CALCUTTA TENNIS TOURNAMENT RESCHEDULED TO LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Due to the inclement weather that impacted our original tournament weekend, we have rescheduled the 2026 Calcutta Tennis Championship to Labor Day Weekend, September 4–6.

While the tournament weekend was postponed, the event itself was not canceled. Therefore, player entry fees will remain applied to the rescheduled tournament. If you are unable to participate during the new tournament dates and would like to request a refund of your entry fee, please contact us directly.

As we prepare for the rescheduled event, we have reserved the following facilities:

• Sunday, August 16 – Wilson Road Clubhouse, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

• Saturday, August 22 – August Pub Night, Groomsbridge Clubhouse, 5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

• September 4, 5, and 6 – Groomsbridge Clubhouse for tournament activities, food trucks, and resident use during the event weekend.

We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding as we work through the weather-related changes. We look forward to an exciting tournament weekend and hope to see everyone on the courts in September.

If you have any questions regarding the rescheduled tournament or your registration, please let us know.

Thank you,

Tournament Committee

Pool Rule Reminder

As we continue to enjoy another great summer at our community pools, we’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of our pool rules and the important role our lifeguards play in keeping our facilities safe for all residents.

Our lifeguards are responsible for enforcing all pool rules and safety procedures. Their primary responsibility is to remain focused on the water and surrounding deck area to help prevent accidents and respond quickly in the event of an emergency.

Unfortunately, there have been several incidents this summer where adults have argued with lifeguards after being reminded of a pool rule. These interactions place our lifeguards in an uncomfortable position and, more importantly, distract them from the job they were hired to do—protect the safety of everyone at the pool.

Please remember:

  • Lifeguards have the authority to enforce all Medlock Bridge pool rules, as well as operational safety procedures established by our pool management company.
  • Some safety procedures followed by the lifeguards may not be specifically listed in the community pool rules but are required as part of their professional training and operating standards.
  • Residents are expected to comply with directions given by the lifeguards promptly and respectfully.
  • If you disagree with a rule or have concerns about how a situation was handled, please do not argue with the lifeguards while they are on duty. Instead, contact Community Management after your visit so the matter can be reviewed appropriately.

Please also remember that our Pool Policy for Misconduct includes “Not listening to the lifeguard on duty” and “Not following Medlock Bridge pool rules” as violations that may result in warnings, suspension of pool privileges, or loss of pool privileges for repeat offenses. Residents who enter the pool during a suspension period may also be subject to fines.

Our community pools are one of Medlock Bridge’s most valued amenities. We can all help create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment by treating our lifeguards with courtesy and respecting the rules they are tasked with enforcing.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us support our lifeguards as they work to keep our pools safe for everyone. We appreciate your partnership and wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable remainder of the pool season.
